Robert buried in Elzas Chapel, Duke Station, Union County, Florida. Enlisted in Company D, Tenth Florida, Infantry September 17, 1861 at Fernandina, Florida and was appointed 5th Sergeant May 12, 1862. He was reduced January 7, 1863. He jumped a troop train at Lake City, Florida and deserted May 17, 1864. Last shown on Muster Roll April 30. 1863 at Alum Bluff.
