James T. Cooper's Military Service


26th Regiment Georgia Infantry, COMPANY "D" (Old Co. "C"), Seaboard Guards, was made up of men from Camden and Wayne Counties; Portions Now in Brantley County, Ga. Private July 29, 1861. Roll for Feb. 28, 1862, shows him present. James was wounded at Manasas, VA and later died Smallpox in the CSA General Hospital, Danville, VA January 24, 1863.
